Software download

In order to view the eTextbook and eChapter content you purchased, you must first download and install the viewer or "unsealer" software.

The viewer software uses a Digital Rights Management (DRM) program to protect copyrighted content in eTextbooks and eChapters. This software prevents book content from being copied, forwarded, shared, or used in an unauthorized manner.

Installing the viewer software is a quick and easy process. Be sure to do this BEFORE you access your digital content for the first time.

Step 1: Install the viewer software

To download the software, simply click the "Install Unsealer" button below.

If you need help with the installation process, try the Installation Guide (Windows) or Installation Guide (MAC)   or contact customer support: 866-994-2427 or send an email to ichapters-support@cengage.com.

Step 2: Perform a system check

To verify that the software installation completed successfully, click the "Check system" button below.

System requirements for eTextbooks

Windows   Macintosh

Intel/AMD 300 megahertz or higher processor clock speed   Both PowerPC and Intel-based Macs are supported

Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP Professional or Home Edition (Service Pack 1 or 2), Windows 2000 (Service Pack 2), Windows XP Tablet PC Edition   Mac OS X 10.3 and higher

128MB of RAM (256MB recommended)   128MB of RAM (256MB recommended)

Cannot use Adobe Reader 9 unless stated otherwise by Oracle

Attention existing iChapters Customers:

Adobe has issued a 9.1 update to Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.0. If you chose to upgrade to 9.1, you will need to install the new version of the unsealer. Please make sure you install the new unsealer to continue to access your iChapters content.

If you continue using any version of Adobe Acrobat Reader before 9.1, you will not need to install the new version of the unsealer.
